Our client, a fast-growing fintech organisation operating in the digital payments sector, is seeking an experienced and innovative Product Manager to lead the development and optimisation of its payment products.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the product vision and roadmap across POS solutions, merchant acquiring systems, and digital payment platforms. This role requires a strategic thinker who can translate customer needs and market opportunities into scalable, user-centric payment solutions that enhance merchant experience and support business growth.
The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering, operations, commercial, compliance, and support teams to deliver high-quality payment products that are reliable, secure, and aligned with market demands in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Define and manage the product roadmap for digital payment solutions across multiple channels and platforms.
Act as the key link between business stakeholders, customers, and technical teams to deliver seamless payment products.
Translate customer needs, market insights, and business objectives into clear product requirements and priorities.
Collaborate with engineering teams to design, develop, and deliver scalable, reliable, and user-friendly payment solutions.
Drive continuous improvement of customer and merchant experience across onboarding, transactions, settlements, and platform usability.
Work closely with operations, compliance, commercial, and support teams to ensure successful product delivery and adoption.
Monitor product performance, customer behaviour, and transaction trends to inform product optimisation and decision-making.
Prioritise product features and enhancements based on business value, customer impact, and market opportunity.
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, gaps, and innovation opportunities within the payments ecosystem.
Support product launches, feature rollouts, and adoption initiatives across multiple customer segments and markets.
Ensure all products comply with regulatory requirements, security standards, and industry best practices.
Contribute to long-term product strategy, innovation, and growth initiatives within the organisation.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Grade 12 Certificate.
Minimum of three (3) to six (6) years’ experience in fintech, banking, payments, or financial infrastructure products.
Strong understanding of payment systems including collections, settlements, and reconciliation processes.
Experience working on multi-channel payment systems such as API integrations, mobile money, card payments, POS, or USSD.
Strong experience working with engineering teams in agile development environments.
Excellent analytical, systems-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Good understanding of high-volume, multi-market financial or payment environments.
Ability to interpret data and customer behaviour to drive product improvements.
Experience in enterprise payments, digital banking, or government payment systems.
Exposure to fintech product scaling across multiple markets or regions.
Experience with payment gateways, switching systems, or financial infrastructure platforms.
Product management certifications (e.g., Pragmatic Institute, Product School, or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
Experience working in fast-paced fintech or high-growth technology environments.
