About the role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Land Surveyor to provide technical leadership and accurate surveying support across construction, earthworks and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will establish survey controls, set out works, conduct topographical and as-built surveys, and ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications and required tolerances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish, maintain and verify survey control points, benchmarks and reference systems.
- Carry out setting-out for earthworks, roads, drainage, buildings and associated infrastructure.
- Conduct topographical, dimensional and as-built surveys and prepare accurate survey reports.
- Interpret engineering drawings, designs and construction specifications.
- Perform volume and quantity calculations, including cut-and-fill measurements.
- Monitor construction works for compliance with design coordinates, levels and tolerances.
- Maintain accurate survey records, field data and documentation.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, supervisors and construction teams.
- Supervise and provide technical guidance to junior survey personnel.
- Ensure surveying activities comply with project HSE and quality requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Land Surveying, Geomatics or a related discipline.
- 8–10 years’ relevant professional experience, preferably within mining, construction or large-scale civil projects.
- Strong proficiency in Total Stations, GPS/GNSS and modern surveying equipment.
- Working knowledge of relevant surveys and CAD software.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, survey controls, earthworks and setting-out procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead surveying activities in a demanding project environment.
